Art inspired by nature
Key Concept
The key concept "Aesthetics" is appropriate for my theme "Preservation of endangered marine flora and animals" because, in my opinion, the ocean is one of the most naturally aesthetic pleasing things. Since endangered creatures are usually visually pleasing, it would contribute to the aesthetic of my artwork.
Related Concept
The related concept "Interpretation" is related to my artwork because my artwork is a direct interpretation one. People will easily be able to understand the intent behind my artwork because it is pretty straight forward. I don't want my artwork to be interpreted in various ways because it depicts an important social cause.
Global Context
With my chosen theme, I have explored many different mediums and layouts. Doing this has taught me a newfound appreciation of observation. Only by observing my references, was I able to convert it into a form of artistry and craft. I chose the strand "artistry, craft, creation, beauty" for this reason.
Statement of Inquiry
I think my theme is related to the SOI because scientists only found out about endangered marine creatures because they observed them. Observing habitats that humans do not occupy reveal aesthetics that we would generally not implement in our artworks. I only got inspired to make my layouts through observation of marine landscapes and creatures.
Intended audience
My intended audience are activists on marine preservation, scientists, and government authorities.
