Art Inspired by Nature - Personal & Cultural Expression
Often a variety of art forms including but not limited to modern, abstract, surrealism, expressionism, etc. take their visual cues and symbolism from forms in nature. In this way, they tend to depict the relationship of humanity to nature as they seek to visually mimic and translate their observations of the environment.
art can involve nature in a wide range of ways; through forms like land art, in addition to an artist's intention to depict environmental issues, the beauty of nature, scientific observations, present philosophical ideas about nature and our world to viewers, etc.

science is an important part of my life, and to me, science is the language and foundation of our world's functioning. Hence, with my personal inclination to science, my artistic intention of presenting the role of various fauna in our survival is strongly aligned with the global context as I attempt to express ideas that are intrinsic to the scientific culture.
Art makes a statement about the relationship between humanity and the associated personal and cultural sentiments with nature. Personal and cultural expression is an intrinsic component of the practice of visual art, thus, I believe this global context is very appropriate/fitting to this unit and theme.
THEME:
natural elements (flora and fauna) as guardians of humanity
symbols
birds
bees
bats
butterflies
phytoplankton
through my artwork, I would like to honor and recognize the organisms in our ecosystem that allow for our survival; as an interdisciplinary link with the subject of Biology and my understanding of zoology and botany in this subject,I have to come to realize the integral rule these organisms play. For example, birds, bees and butterflies are essential for pollination and seed dispersal; processes that provide us with the food/glucose we required to live everyday.
theme connection with audience
: given that humanity is reliant on these fauna for their survival and the world is becoming more and more scientifically aware, the integration of science with visual art allows for a broad and close connection to a wide range of global audiences. Thus, the intended audience is truly all people of the global community, especially those with minimal scientific knowledge in order to make connections with the symbolism
