Quatrain :
A quatrain in poetry is a series of four lines that make one verse of a poem, known as a stanza.
Example :
When my mother died I was very young,
And my father sold me while yet my tongue
Could scarcely cry " 'weep! 'weep! 'weep! 'weep!"
So your chimneys I sweep & in soot I sleep.

Sonnet:
Definition:
Sonnets are short rhyming poems, normally of 14 lines (an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed one) and with lines of ten syllables, five of them stressed. It contains a consistent rhyme scheme of A/B/A/B // C/D/C/D // E/F/E/F // G/G split into 3 quatrains (four lines per stanza).

haiku
Haiku:Haiku is a form of poetry that focuses on a brief moment in time, and a sense of sudden illumination or enlightenment. A haiku is usually composed of seventeen syllables in three short lines. The first line often contains five syllables, the second line seven syllables, and the third line five syllables. A haiku is usually written in present tense, with a pause at the end of the first or second line, and it normally doesn't rhyme.

Free verse is a literary device that can be defined as poetry that is free from the limitations of a regular meter or rhythm and does not rhyme with fixed forms.

Definition: A diamante has seven lines that describe a person or an object in a special way. The diamante takes on a shape of a diamond, you will notice that when you centre a poem.
