the parliament negotiated with mary's husband william d'orange, who then marched on london with an army forcing james II, his son and his wife to run away
mary and william became queen and king, and a revolution had taken place, because the king wasn't chose by divine right, but by the parliament. this revolution is known as the glorious revolution
it was enstablished a toleration act, that excluded chatolics and unitarians; the bill of right in which it is said that laws can be sospended only with the consent of parliament

george from hanover was german. thanks to the settlement act james I's son couldn't reigh in england. he was the son of elechtress sophia, daughter of elizabeth and friederick of palatinate, daughter of james I
he didn't stay in england and he didn't speak english so england was under the control of parliament, divided in two opposites sides: the whigs, a scottish name for 'against divine right of the king' and the tores, an irish name for 'supporters of the king'. they elected the whig robert walpore to lead the parliament
