The European Union is a supranational institution of 27 European states.It was founded to promote economic collaboration between them.

THE EUROPEAN ECONOMY
The European economy is one of the most developed in the world. However, there are big differences between the member countries.
SECUNDARY SECTOR
European industry is highly developed, mainly in the area between Germany and the north of Italy. In these areas, there is a lot of invertion in technology and industrial investigation.
TERTIARY SECTOR
The service sector generates the greatest wealth in member countries and employs over 75% of its population. Activities in this sector include trade, both internal and external, and tourism.

PRIMARY SECTOR
Although a smaller percentage of the population works in this sector, it is highly rentable is related to the high degree of mechanisation in agricultural and farming activities. In addition, fishing is very important, especially in Western European countries.

ECONOMIC REGIONS
The Nordic region has highly developed economies and a very high income per inhabitant. These countries have many activities related to technology. The countries in this region are sparsely (escasamente) populated.
