Health
Health is the amount of damage your Legend (the player's character) can take before dying. This is visualized by the lower white bar beside your legend's icon and username.

-
But, it can be restored through healing items or by using a legend's ability that is capable of healing them.

Losing Health:
Bleeding Out.
After losing all health, the legend will enter a downed state, known as Bleeding Out.
During this, they have 100 health and can only move or activate a Knockdown Shield if equipped.
People can be recovered either by a squad mate or by self once with a Legendary Knockdown Shield equipped.
After being recovered, they will have 20 health and no shields. (or 70 health and 50 shields if equipped with a Legendary Backpack).
If while downed, they lose all remaining health or a maximum of 90 seconds have passed, the legend dies and drops a box with their loot accessible to friends and foes.
If the legends die, they spawn a banner on top of them that their teammate can pickup within 90 seconds to revive them at a "Respawn Beacon" without any gear.
If the last surviving squad mate dies when others are downed, the downed squad mates die from Bleed Out instantly. The Squad is officially eliminated.
