Education
Education has an important place for the individual to realize himself/herself and thanks to education, the individual's behavior and attitudes are improved.
National Education
Another purpose of education is to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills demanded by their epoch, so enabling them to function as adaptable members of their community and the modern world (Sezer, 2020).
TNES's General Goals
The general aim of Turkish national education is to raise good citizens who are loyal to nationalism and to raise individuals who protect and develop their culture based on Atatürk's principles and reforms, who know their place in the society and adapt to the society, and are aware of their human rights.
TNES's Specific Goals
The specific purpose of Turkish national education is to raise an individual who is spiritually balanced, morally honest, has a sense of responsibility towards her/his homeland, can think healthy and logically, and has a worldview and can develop her thoughts in the field of science.
TNES's Principles
Generality and Equality =Education is education for all and does not accept religion, language, race discrimination. Example: even the visual selection that trainers use to overcome this inequality is effective.
The Needs of the Individual and Society = Education is organized according to the needs of the society and the adequacy and desire of the individual. For example, the need of the society is to train an English teacher and the individual can choose English teaching according to his/her proficiency and desire.
Orientation =It is the orientation of the individual to various schools or programs according to his/her wishes and abilities. For example, choosing a fine arts high school in line with the individual's ability to paint.
Education Right =Every individual has the right to receive primary school education. Institutions coming after primary education depend on the individual's will and ability.
Equality of Opportunity and Opportunity =Educational opportunities should be given to individuals whose financial income is not sufficient. For example, scholarships and loans
Continuity =In addition to school education, education is also necessary to ensure the continuity of individuals in their business life. For instance, trainer trainings for teachers or trainee teachers
Ataturk's Revolution and Principles and Ataturk's Nationalism =For this principle, it is essential to protect and develop national culture and morality based on Atatürk's nationalism. An example of this principle is the preparation of curricula for all grades and all kinds of subjects, and the teaching of the Turkish language without spoiling or overdoing it.
Democracy Education =Information on homeland administration, respect for moral values, and the progress of educational activities given to individuals to be understanding and responsible are studied. In this way, no involvement in political events or discussions is allowed in educational institutions.
Secularism =Secularism is fundamental. Religion and morals classes are compulsory in primary and high school.
Scientificity =Programs and methods for the advancement of science are renewed according to science. Research and assessments are constantly developed according to science. Culture is developed with knowledge and technology. For example, providing technological tools in schools and libraries for more effective education and research.
Plannedness =National education is planned and carried out for cultural development goals based on vocational and technical education. In addition to this, the regulation of professional organizations in accordance with levels and the determination of standards related to educational institutions. For example, the provision of equipment to schools according to proficiency.
Co-education =It is essential to mix boys and girls in education, but this may change depending on the type of education.
Cooperation between education campuses and school and family =Meeting the common needs and the operation of the places for the common areas are carried out by the campus administration. Cooperation between the school and the family is ensured in order to contribute to the purpose of the educational institution. Budget revenues of parent-teacher associations are arranged in order to provide opportunities for students with no financial means and to increase their efficiency and productivity. These incomes are found in special accounts opened in banks and are calculated in case of contribution to education.
Education in everywhere =In line with the aims of education, education is tried to be carried out at every opportunity, not only in official institutions. For example, at home, in the environment, at work...
