Religion, Hope, and Change
Religion
The first instance of the idea or concept of Religion is shown as something of a chore for most people or maybe a crude ideology.

Religion is used as a way to keep a will to survive. It's used as an explanation for what they don't know and can often leave themselves in the hands of God and all they have left is hope and their hope for change.
-
Hope
He hopes to get laws changed, suspend “overly restrictive” minimum wage, environmental, and worker protection laws for those employers willing to take on homeless employees and provide them with training and adequate room and board. CH3

Hope is heavily pushed to the reader. Hope is what carries the people of Robledo on. They hope for the good old days to come back or for a change to occur that will ultimately be for the better. Hope is the salvation of a fool that does nothing to change.
change
This shows that change will happen no matter what. Whatever you do, some type of change will still happen.
For example when Keith got what he wanted.a gun, he left. As a result of him leaving, he was at first beat up and stripped everything, but then left again and came back with money but he got that money by choosing a bad path. He chose a path of violence, theft, and petty crimes. He was also literate which made him useful to the people he was working with. This path ended up getting killed by the bad decisions he made and the bad path he decided to take.

Change is often not always observable instantly, change
can only be noticed when it;s looked at objectively and with great recollection and thought.
All that you touch You Change. All that you Change Changes you.The only lasting truth Is Change.God Is Change.
