BASIC TERMS AND CONCEPTS RELATED TO ELTPs
syllabus
Syllabus is defined as an agreement between professors and their students that is intended to answer students' queries about a subject and to inform them about what will happen if they fail to satisfy course objectives
-
curriculum
A curriculum is a well-defined and planned area of study that students must finish in order to graduate from a certain level of education.
-
teaching program
Language teaching program is a set of foreign language courses that teach the language using a technique to achieve a goal/goals such as communicating or passing a competency exam.
curriculum goals
Broad statements of objectives or ends given in broad terms with no achievement or mastering standards. Curriculum objectives or goals are related to educational objectives and ideas.
examples: Ensure each and every one of our pupils understands and embraces modern Turkish values.
Encourage our students to build their entrepreneurial talents so that they may grow into inventive, creative, strategic-thinking persons with employable skills.
learning outcomes
Outcome: A written statement describing what the learner will be able to perform as a result of taking part in the educational activity. The learning outcome addresses the academic needs (knowledge, abilities, and/or practices) that make a contribution to the professional practice gap, and completing it results in decreasing or closing that gap. The learning outcome can be used to evaluate the total impact of numerous objectives.
e.g. Students explain how to speak and write in appropriate language when they are asked.
-
objectives
Statements that specify the desired goal(s) of a learning activity.
Learning objectives can be used to organize the content of a learning session. Tasks such as "list," "discuss," and "assert" are examples of objectives.
