Pathophysiology of Elimination - Coggle Diagram
Pathophysiology of Elimination
Urinary dysfunction
Motility: urinary stasis in the parenchyma of the kidneys
Reduced contraction within the nephrons
Treatment: increase water intake
Neuromuscular function
Impaired neural signal transmission from either the PNS or CNS.
Treatment: Cholinergic agonist
Patency: obstruction
Urinary flow is blocked
Treatment: depending on the cause of the urinary patency, surgery is an option.
Perfusion: insufficient blood flow
Hypovolemia, Hemorrhagic shock, Dehydration
Treatment: Fluid replenishment
Bowel dysfunction
Patency: fluid in the GI tract enters bladder or through the cutaneous tissue
Entercutaneous fistula, Enterovesicular fistula
Treatment: Surgery
Motility: inadequate peristalsis
Aganglionic colon (i.e., Hirschprung disease), Drug-induced inhibitor of motility
Treatment: Surgery or Muscarcinic agonist medication to stimulate motility
Neuromuscular function: Impairment in signal transmission and/or muscle responsiveness
Opioid toxicity
Treatment: Withdrawal/stoppage of Opioid
