Challenges
inflexible
when lockdown hit and I wasn't able to skate or go to school, I was annoyed. I found it hard to adjust to a new normal.
If I make plans with someone or a group of people, I find it hard to accept when the plans change or get cancelled.

Strengths

-
strong practical skills
When faced with an important decision, I like to think practically. An example of this is when I had to pick my courses for grade 11 and 12.

Motivating factors
goal setting
-
In order to get work done, I like to start by writing down small goals/tasks to complete which will lead to me completing larger tasks.
Planning out my day
Having a plan for the day allows me to be more productive. This allows for me to fit things like physical movement and self care into my day.
Strengths
sense of self
I like to take time to myself whether its for self care, homework, making important decisions or journaling.
Body / physical movement
Ever since I was little, I have been an active person. Other than sports, I love going for walks, playing board games and doing puzzles in my free time.
I am a figure skater and runner and love doing both as they allow me to be active and challenge myself. I like a good challenge and setting goals for myself and both of these sports allow me to do that.
I can't sit still for too long and need a balance between for example, working at a computer and performing a science lab in order to learn.

Challenges
underestimating myself
I underestimate my ability especially in figure skating. Luckily I have a great coach who helps me to stay confident in my abilities.
-
Motivating factors
Taking risks
When I put myself out there even if I'm not sure what the future holds, Im most likely going to succeed
When I transitioned from grade 8 to grade 9, I took a risk by switching schools. I was scared as I didn't know anyone at my new school except for my sister. Eventually because I put myself out there, I was able to make friends and have a good experience.

VIA Character strengths
Challenges
Honesty
Being 100% honest can sometimes be a challenge for me. This test knew me well by depicting this as one of my challenges.
I used to find myself telling small lies in order to not get in as much trouble as I would if I was fully honest. I do however know now that it's better to be upfront and honest about everything to start as one lie can turn into many other ones.
In the past I have told small lies not to keep me from getting in trouble but to keep my friends or family from getting hurt.
Leadership
Even though I work well on a team and in groups, I sometimes struggle to be a leader.
I have been told in the past by teachers that I need to put my good social skills to work by being a leader in situations like group projects.
Motivating factors
Meeting new people
-
-
New people means stronger bonds and learning how to make a relationship work. This goes hand in hand with teamwork.
Strengths
Teamwork
I enjoy group activities and projects when it comes to classwork. However I also value the time I have to individually solve a problem or complete a task
Even though the sports I mainly focus on are individual (figure skating and running), I enjoy working and playing on a team. For example, in grade 7 and 8, I was apart of my school's volleyball team.
-
Gratitude
I have always been and continue to be aware of the people around me and grateful for the relationships I have with friends and family.
I like to write in my journal at least twice a week. In there I like to write down at least one thing that I was grateful for during that day,
Humor
love bringing smiles to others faces, don't take things too seriously
When meeting new people, I look for an aspect of humor which helps me to be myself and form connections
