GEOGRAPHY
The term "United States", when used in the geographical sense, is the contiguous United States, the state of Alaska, the island state of Hawaii, the five island territories of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands of USA USA, Guam and American Samoa and minor outlying possessions. [1] The United States shares land borders with Canada and Mexico and maritime borders with Russia, Cuba, The Bahamas, and other countries, [note 2] in addition to Canada and Mexico. The United States' northern border with Canada is the longest binational land border in the world.
