Petite Bougeoisie
Small merchants, less important officials, all types of artisans, artists, servants and labourers. They formed the largest group in cities. They lived in humble houses in buildings with several groups
Upper Bourgeoisie
Important merchants, bankers and officials. They lived in richly decorated urban palaces. Together with the city nobles, they were the ruling social class, the most powerful and influential group.
Peasants
They form the largest group, they were serfs of the feudal Lord or the noble. They pay them rent or part of their harvest
Social changes
The bourgeoisie and the peasants protested for the abolition of nobles' and clergy's privileges and the possibility to participate in political institutions.
