The Versailles Treaty forced Germany to give up territory to Belgium, Czechoslovakia and Poland, return Alsace and Lorraine to France and cede all of its overseas colonies in China, Pacific and Africa to the Allied nations.
The treaty of versalillies was signed in 28 June 1919 which therefore lead to Hitlers hatred towards the treaty
Germany lost land, money, power and respect as well as their armies an dhsip number were decreased.
Failure of apeasment
Due to the policy of appeasement failed to prevent war, those who advocated it were quickly criticised. Appeasement came to be seen as something to be avoided by those with responsibility for the diplomacy of Britain or any other democratic country.
During the 1930s, British and French leaders began to believe that the Treaty of Versailles was unfair to Germany, and that Hitler's actions were understandable and justified

Britain and France failed to intervene when Hitler’s grievances stretched much further than the original legitimate plans.

Appeasement was said to have been beneficial because it provided the Allies with more time to prepare for war. However, the idea that the Munich Agreement had restored peace fooled the Allies into a stagnant state since none of them were fully prepared for the war when it arrived.

In 1936 Hitler ordered German troops to enter the German-speaking areas of the Rhineland (France), Austria, and Czechoslovakia.
In 1936, Hitler made alliances with Italy and Japan.
Although Britain and France knew of Hitler's actions, they thought a stronger Germany would stop the spread of Communism from Russia.
