- - - - Content connectors have access and embedded skills when unpacking them.
        
        Access skills are skills that are needed to access the content. These are skills related to communication and background knowledge.
        
        Embedded skills are found within the content connector. When looking at these break down the connector into segments and then consider the varying level of complexity in each access point.
        
        Content connectors have core and fringe vocabulary. Core vocabulary id everyday vocabulary. Very simple words that may be difficult to visualize. Words like me, you, want, more, have, good. Fringe vocabulary is more specific to the context. They are typically labelable nouns like umbrella and pizza.

    - - The certificate of completion looks very similar to the Indiana diploma so that it can be easily read and checked off.
      - On the certificate of completion path, students can earn credits or applied units. Credits are a part of the general education curriculum and applied units are a part of the alternate curriculum. The courses for applied credits are labeled similarly for easy access when looking at completion of courses for graduation.
