Why do you think so many people supported this campaign?
Kyla
Can you think of any recent/current campaigns that have gained a lot of attention?
What is an issue that you think we should be campaigning about at the moment? Why is it important?
Extinction Rebellion. I do not think they will be successful as the actions they are fighting for are not clear. I do not agree with their arguments as they just seem to enjoy causing chaos without actually believing in their cause.
I think more should be done to solve the migrant crisis. They should transport all illegal immigrants to a British island for processing rather than let them into the country straight away when some of their applications may not be reasonable enough.
It has had a big impact – the BBC did a programme about it, so it would have caught the public’s attention nationwide, but also there are several other campaigns worldwide as a result.
It is almost impossible to get rid of all the plastic bags. The town of Modbury may have been persuaded to ban plastic bags but that cannot be guaranteed for all of them.
I think people supported the campaign because they saw real images of the harm that plastic bags cause wildlife and realised that by making a small change in their lives, they could make a big difference.
