Incitec & Temasek
Keppel, Incitec & Temasek have signed an MoU to investigate the feasibility of producing green ammonia
Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel Infrastructure Keppel is pleased to partner with Incitec Pivot and Temasek to explore and identify feasible pathways to develop secure, scalable and cost competitive green ammonia supply chains from production, transportation and storage to distribution and end-uses in the global and regional markets. Availing green ammonia, as a potential source of clean fuel to support the demand for sustainable energy, can meaningfully contribute to deep decarbonisation in power and hard-to-abate sectors"
Collaborations
Keppel, Osaka Gas & Woodside collaborate
Aim to study the feasibility of a green hydrogen supply chain from Australia to Singapore - and potentially on to Japan.

Orsted Agreement
Keppel Offshore & Marine signed a global framework agreement with Orsted on future substation projects
Mr Chris Ong, CEO of Keppel O&M "We are pleased that Ørsted, the world’s biggest offshore wind developer, has signed a framework agreement with us so we can provide value-added solutions for the long term. It reflects the partnership and trust we have built with Ørsted, as well as the quality of work demonstrated by Keppel O&M on the first two offshore substations we built for them. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with Ørsted as we grow our track record in delivering innovative and cost-efficient solutions for the offshore wind industry.”
Part of a strategic initiative (2030) to strengthen the long-term partnership of the two companies and streamline processes for future OSS projects. This follows Keppel O&M’s recent completion of its first project for Ørsted in Singapore in September 2021 – two OSS for Taiwan’s Greater Changhua offshore wind farms

Edge Computing
Data Centres
Cloud to Edge continuum
Keppel see the concepts of cloud & edge as opposite ends of a continuum, forming a network of distributed computing
As a result, Keppel have developed a Cloud to Edge continuum model to work in their micro data-centres
distributing computing workloads reduces the burden on the overall network infrastructure preventing data traffic bottlenecks
The additional data generated from IoT sensors improves the quality of ML & Big Data analytics performed in the cloud
Distributed nature of the network enhances its robustness in the event of DDoS cyber attacks, limiting them solely to the affected node(s) leaving the rest of the network unharmed
Edge computing frees up resources for the cloud data centres at the core to perform compute-intensive tasks, such as ML & Big Data Analytics
As hyperscale & multi-tenanted data centre capacities continue to increase, Keppel expect the need for higher compute at the edge will grow exponentially
As a result, Keppel are aiming to build smaller Data Centres in secondary cities
Keppel believe the emergence of Edge computing will result in a shift away from the traditional data centre offerings to more fully support evolving network infrastructure & management needs
