Reading a research paper
Re-read the entire paper for better understanding
Read the entire paper in order and take notes (look at key figures)
Read the abstract, the introduction, and conclusion to obtain the key material

What are they key findings? Did the authors obtain the expected results?
How are the reported findings different or better? Has the overall research question been answered?
What is the general experimental approach? Did the authors use appropriate measurements and procedures?
What are the major conclusions drawn from the findings? Are the major conclusions drawn from the findings justified?
What's the overall purpose of the research? Is it clearly stated?
