Comparative Study on the impact of the environment of the ABM grade 12 students at FEU High School while studying before and during the pandemic
-
Background of the study
In a traditional learning culture, most generations of high school students enhance their student ability to be productive in a way that they can learn on their own, while online learning is the system of education that the students have encountered during the pandemic.
This current COVID-19 pandemic affects not only the use of technology in education, but also future teaching practices.
Student assessments are increasingly moving online, resulting in a great deal of trial and error and uncertainty for everyone.

-
Is there a significant difference between the academic performances of the students between the classroom environment and home learning?
Important Ideas
Good environment for students are opportunities for the students in being engaged of their dreams and be more focused or improved on cognitive activities.
A classroom set-up is the learning culture that most generations of high school students enhance their student ability
Universities had to quickly change to virtual and digital techniques because of the unexpected shift away from classrooms in many parts of the world.
Previous Study
Many students still prefer traditional face-to-face learning the students are having a hard time transitioning from (Macaranas, 2021).
To ensure the student’s willingness and interest to study online, teachers must carefully consider their instructional method and approaches by matching the learning experience to the student’s current condition.
Students miss out on developing social bonding and learning in a community (Mates, 2021).
Despite the ongoing pandemic, many schools chose to continue their programs online, however students concluded that learning at home was challenging. Teaching and learning through a computer are not the normal routine for teachers and students. Traditional face-to-face engagement is one of traditional learning's capabilities that supports us. Teachers and students across the country switched to online, or distance, learning due to the pandemic.
Students in remote places without the luxury of good connection perceive online learning as less effective due to the struggle in communication between the student and the teacher (Harefa & Sihombing, 2021).
Staffs, students, and professors should be encouraged to take advantage of the growing availability of online training and skills enhancement workshops to compensate for on-campus activities. Enhancing the technological infrastructure, providing responsive troubleshooting services, and establishing robust communication channels are all crucial factors to consider.
Most studies point out that a strong internet connection seems to be one of the environmental factors that affect the efficiency of online learning, achieving a stable internet connection for all students, however, is hardly probable due to most students are limited to only mobile networks (Mates, 2021).
Distance learning necessitates a variety of devices as well as a reliable wireless connection. Almanar also ascertained how other students' study performance has improved to become more flexible and convenient. However, face-to-face instruction was more preferred and the curriculum content needed to be more relevant.
Research Hypothesis
Question: Do the classroom and home environment differ from one another based on the students’ perspective?
Null Hypothesis: There is no significant difference in students’ academic performance between the classroom environment and home learning.
