Synapses
-
An electrical impulse in the first neuron triggers a release of Neurotransmitters. The neurotransmitters travel across the synapse by Diffusion across a high to low concentration gradient where they bind with complementary receptors in the membrane of the next neuron. This triggers and impulse in the next neuron.
