KINGDOMS
-
Monera Kingdom
They are prokaryotic organisms, usually unicellular. Their cells usually have a cell wall, but their composition is different from that of plants. Some beings that belong to this kingdom are bacteria and cyanophyceous algae.
-
-
Protoctist Kingdom
They are eukaryotic beings, which can be unicellular or multicellular, autotrophic or heterotrophic. They lack differentiated tissues, this being their main characteristic. The cells of autotrophic organisms possess a cell wall and chloroplasts. Protozoa and most algae belong to this kingdom.
-
-
Fungi Kingdom
These are eukaryotic, unicellular or multicellular organisms, but always heterotrophic. Their cells usually have a cell wall, whose composition is different from that of the rest of the groups, and they do not have chloroplasts. This kingdom includes fungi and yeasts.
-
-
Plants Kingdom
Plants are eukaryotic, multicellular and autotrophic beings. They have tissues and organs that perform different functions. Its cells have a cell wall of cellulose and chloroplasts.
Flowerless plantsf
They are simple plants that do not contain seeds. They are bryophytes (mosses and liverworts) and Pteridophages (ferns).
Flowering plants
They are plants that contain seeds and conductive vessels. In this group are gymnosperms (pines and cypresses) and angiosperms (oak and rockrose).
Animal Kingdom
They are eukaryotic, multicellular and heterotrophic organisms. They have tissues and organs that perform various functions.
Invertebrates
These animals lack a backbone in their body. They are porifers, cnidarians, annelids, molluscs, echinoderms and anthropopods.
Vertebrates
They are animals that have a backbone, formed by vertebrae, which articulate with each other. These are fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.
