Radio Buttons will be used to select a general layout of the room
Notifications of the dashboard will appear when application has been approved or changes to booking have been made
A messaging feature will allow the client to communicate with the venue through the app
Explore
Number of event spaces that remain unused on weekends and school holidays on school campus
Venue hire is a secondary source of income for the school
Venue Hire wishes to improve the user experience and limit the amount of emails back and forth with clients
By making it easier and more convenient to hire venues the number of bookings should increase
The app should also make it easier to collect data about catering, AV and parking
Application should improve the experience for new or existing clients

Research
Existing Solutions
Somerville House Venue Hire website
Not existing venue hire apps
Hiring a venue is not a main function/button on the existing website
Lacks drop down, radio buttons and check boxes
When picking a time to hire a venue on your application it does not take into account availability meaning there is the potential for a lot of back and forth with the venue and the client
Somerville House colours and formatting
Aesthetics and picture make it a very good user interface
Can book through email or phone which makes it more difficult to record information
Interview
Interview with representative from Somerville House Venue Hire and Catering
Booking time slots are either full days (4 and a half hours or longer) or half days. Hourly doesn't fit with the school calendar
Ideally the user has more prompts in the form of checkboxes to allow a clearer vision to be received
Recurring clients - hospital, local dance groups and internal school bookings
Discounts for Old Girls and recurring customers
Approval process - client sends in application through website, client gets a confirmation that the application was received, business manager approves, principle approves and then a confirmation is sent to the client. It is recommended, especially new clients, that a time is arranged to come and see the space
Catering - mostly be done onsite, but will be outsourced if the school can't provide
AV - if beyond the school's capabilities, clients will be put in contact with external AV providers approved by the school
Parking - because it is a working school, there is sometimes limited parking - but on weekends and in holidays it is possible to open up parking spaces if the client needs
