FLUID MECHANIC
DENSITY
-
Mass per unit volume of a fluid. This is denoted by symbol ρ (rho) and the unit of mass density is (kg/m3). The density of liquid may be constant but the density of gases changes with the variation of temperature and pressure. (The Density of water is 1000 kg/m3) or (we can say 1 g/cm3).
-
HYDROSTATIC EQUILIBRIUM
condition of a fluid or plastic solid at rest, which occurs when external forces, such as gravity, are balanced by a pressure-gradient force
-
-
PRESSURE GAUGE
instrument for measuring the condition of a fluid (liquid or gas) that is specified by the force that the fluid would exert, when at rest, on a unit area, such as pounds per square inch or newtons per square centimetre.
-
MERCURY BAROMETER
A mercury barometer is a barometer with a column of mercury whose height varies according to the atmospheric (barometric) pressure. A barometer is an instrument for measuring atmospheric pressure, which is used in forecasting the weather.
-
ARCHIMEDES PRINCIPLE
a law stating that a body totally or partially immersed in a fluid is subject to an upward force equal in magnitude to the weight of fluid it displaces.
-
FLUID FLOW
a part of fluid mechanics and deals with fluid dynamics. It involves the motion of a fluid subjected to unbalanced forces. This motion continues as long as unbalanced forces are applied.
-
BERNOULI'S EQUATION
points 1 and 2 lie on a streamline,; the fluid has constant density
-
PRESSURE,DEPTH AND PASCAL LAWS
PASCAL LAWS
a pressure change in one part is transmitted without loss to every portion of the fluid and to the walls of the container
-
-
-
fluid behavior (liquids, gases, blood, and plasmas) at rest and in motion.
