        The presence of inhibitors will affect the cleaning ability of the enzymes, as inhibitors hinder reactions from occurring, as competitive inhibitors bind to the active site, and non-competitive inhibitors alter the shape of the enzyme (Worthington Biochemical Corporation, 2021), meaning that the active site is no-longer complementary to the substrate.
