What determines being healthy?
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as “complete physical, mental, and social well-being - and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
This definition hits all parts of what determines to be healthy. It provides excellent information of how and what determines to be healthy
Being healthy is not always eating the right thing or getting a 2 hour workout in daily. Being healthy is having everything in moderation, too much of something can always have negative impact on your health.
An important aspect of being healthy is having a good outlook on life. Being stressed, insecure, depressed, etc all effect your health in a way most people do not know about it. Facing your fears can help people overcome these hardships and make you healthier
The reason this helps determines being healthy is because health is not about food and working out. It is more than that, mental health plays the biggest part in your health. Without improving your mental health it won't be possible to have a healthy lifestyle.
How do you start becoming healthy?
Becoming healthier is not always the easiest option for most people. Doing it step-by-step might be the best way to start becoming healthier.
For example, instead of trying to eat every meal of the day five days a week that will look very intimidating. Instead start off with a healthy breakfast for those five days or a healthy lunch.
Another way to become healthier is by working out. Starting off with doing physical activities 3-4 times a week for around 45 minutes - 1 hour would be a great way to start off.
Stay off the phone and other electronic devices. Obviously i'm not saying never get on them but be careful of how much time you spend on electronics. It hurts your eyes, and is addicting. For example I used to always get on my phone before bed but I now read ten pages of a book to let my eyes rest and it also helps me sleep better.
All these tie into another common thing about health, and that is mental health. Working out, eating better, and staying off electronics will help you in becoming a healthier version of yourself and as well as improving your mental health

Foods that are great for health
Breakfast:
Eggs, Oatmeal, fruit, bagel, yogurt, granola, milk
Lunch:
Grilled chicken, white rice, vegetables, ham, turkey, whole grain bread, smoothies
Dinner:
Steak, more chicken, potatoes, vegetables,
Snacks:
Almonds, cashews, trail mix, protein bars, rice cakes, peanut butter, fruit
Deserts:
Peanut butter oatmeal bars, sauteed apples, chocolate covered bananas
How does working out improve our well being?
According to helpguide.org it states "Exercise is not just about aerobic capacity and muscle size. Sure, exercise can improve your physical health and your physique, trim your waistline, improve your sex life, and even add years to your life. But that’s not what motivates most people to stay active."
Working out also reales endorphins which is incredibly important to our well being as it allows us to feel better about ourselves.
Working out doesn't always have to be boring and it usually never is if you're training for the right thing and having fun with it. For example, if you want to lose weight and love you dancing, jump roping, biking, running, and many other activities this can help you have fun and lose weight. This will help improve peoples well being because they will be having an enjoyable time while working out.
People who workout know it is in their everyday lives and it helps them set up a routine. This routine can help improve peoples well being because it provides them structure.
Everyone should always be wanting to improve their well being. Working out can be a change reaction for literally everything in an individuals life. It provides structure, releases endorphins, makes you want to eat better, makes you sleep better, there are so many positive outcomes to improve ones well being.
How much does mental health play in our well being?
Mental health plays the biggest role in our well being. If our mental health is not strong no other part of our body is strong either. Without being in the right mental state it is tremendously hard to motivate ourselves to workout let alone do anything else.
Mental health and our well being go hand and hand together. Without a strong mental health there is no well being as our brain will take over and make us think that we are weak. But we are not weak, we will improve our well being and mental health by getting structure in our lives, working out, eating better, etc.
According to mentalhealth.org it states "Research shows that people with a mental health problem are more likely to have a preventable physical health condition such as heart disease."
This quote is saying that with mental health problems will destroy your well being, and also can become life threatening.
Going to see a doctor, friend, or a family member should be the first thing to do when experiencing signs of depression, anxiety, stress, etc. These people can help improve your well being on a day to day basis
