Bush boy lead the way and continued to help them with food, water and shelter. Mary still distrusted the bush boy.

bush boy came to terms with the death message and accepted it without question, without struggle.

Chapter 14
Mary and Peter understand that Bush boy was terribly sick. Bush boy dies during the night on Mary's lap and busy boy guides Peter on the right direction and food and water before he dies.

they bury the bush boy and set off further towards the hill. They miss the bush boy and quite comfortably manages to find food through the acquired skills from the bush boy

Peter and Mary have a pleasant journey discovering interesting birds, animals on their way.
Peter discovered clay and they made drawings of house, lizard, koalas, birds
Chapter 18
They manage to meet a native man, woman, kid and a dog. After spending some good time together and sharing food, the native man guides them towards civilisation, marking a happy end to the story.

Chapter 1
Mary and Peter are left all alone in the desert. They spend the night without food and Mary stays up guarding her little brother.
Chapter 2
The kids bathe in the stream, even get attacked by ants. They decide to walk to Adelaide to uncle Keith's place.

They finally found trees with the quandong fruits and they quenched their thirst and hunger heartfully. While collecting them for their journey, they met the bushboy.
Chapter 5
While Mary was alarmed by the naked Aboriginal boy, Peter decides to seek his help to find their way back to civilisation.
Chapter 6
Bush boy takes them to the stream and helps them find food, water, and shelter. Peter gets comfortable with the Bush boy and they manage to interact using a combination of sounds and gestures.
