median- the middle value of the data listed from smallest to largest value, helps understand central tendency's and isn't skewed by outliers

mean- average, sum the values and divide by number of values
standard deviation- info about variability, how far numbers are spread out. variance- sum of squared deviations of each data point and dividing by the number of values
standard error- measures how precise. as samples increase standard error decrease. has SD increase, SE increases.
95% confidence interval- level of probability that population is contained to those interval values.

normal distribution- continuous on an interval of numbers. used to determine significance levels and confidence intervals. bell shaped. can be standardized by making mean =0 and SD=1. Standardized- 68.3% of data is in ±1 SD, 95.4% of data ±2 SD and 99.7% of data is in ±3 SD
