Monarchy is the oldest form of government in the United Kingdom. In a monarchy, a king or a queen is a Head of State. The British Monarchy is known as a constitutional monarchy. This means that, while the Sovereign is the Head of State, the ability to make and pass legislation resides with an elected Parliament. The Monarch has a less formal role as Head of Nation. Members of the Royale Family supports the queen in her many States and national duties, as well as carrying out important workin the areas of the public and caritable service, and helping too strengthen national unity and stability. Queen Elizabeth II, is the longest-reining monarch in Brithish history. Her husband died on 9 April of 2021, aged 99.
