Early Career

With the help of the Browns she found an agent (Maurice Crain) that led to a publisher (J.B. Lippincott Company) and an editor (Tay Hohoff). Lee worked a book set in a small Alabama town, that eventually became To Kill a Mockingbird Biography
To Kill a Mockingbird
Her book was an astounding success. Over 40 million copies sold worldwide, it was translated in 40 languages, it is one of the most-assigned novels in American schools, and it won a Pulitzer Prize a year after it was published. Britannica
