AKI - Coggle Diagram
AKI
Mechanism of injury
-
-
-
NSAIDs
Inhibits postaglandins activity on the Afferent arteriole leading to vasocostriction and increased glomerular pressure
ACEi/ARBs
Causes vasodilation of the Efferent arterioles leading to vasodilation and decreased glomerular pressure
Calcineurin Inhibitors
Causes vasocontriction of afferent arterioles. Also high concentration of protein bound drugs in the kidney.

Pathophysiology
-
Intrinsic AKI
-
Results from structural damage to the kidney, most commonly the tubule from an ischemic or toxic result
Diagnosis
-
-
Not efficient to use CrCl equations, Glomerular damage tends to be uncommon
Types
-
Post Renal
