Temperatre Rainforests -
The animals of temperate rainforest are usually large mammals, small birds, insects, and reptiles. These species vary widely between rainforests in different world regions. Bobcats, mountain lions, and black bears are major predators in the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. Ground dwellers such as wallabies, bandicoots, and potoroos eat the foods provided by the forest floor. Other rainforests are home to a number of unique birds such as the Magellanic woodpecker and the Juan Fernández firecrown, a hummingbird species that has a crown of color-changing feathers.
