Theory of Evolution
Meeting of the MInds
Darwin vs. Lamark
Darwin and Lamark were two scientist with different views on evolution.
Origin of species
Adaptations
There is variation among birds in a population, and this variation is passed from parents to offspring. In some environments, natural selection favors one beak shape; in others, a different shape is favored. This change, or evolution, can happen over a very short period of time. When it happens over a long period of time and the changes involve mating behaviors, the populations may become separate species. The mating behavior maintains the separation. : :

Mutations and Bird Beaks
Mutation is a change in the DNA of a gene that may lead to a different trait.
Over the generations the 1 tined forkbird had not really gone up and it stayed really low. The 2-tined fork birds started really high but over the generations it went down, not as low as the 1-tined forkbird but it had a little more. The 4-tined forkbird started really low but as the generations went on there ended up being more and more to the point where at the end, the 4-tined fork birds had the highest amount.
The most successful forkbird was definitely the 4-tined because by the end of all the trials it has the most amount meaning the people with the 4-tined fork birds were able to pick up the most. The most unsuccessful for birds was the one-timed because people were not able to pick up the stuff with it, and by the end the 1-tined fork birds had dies out

Fossil Evidence
fossils
fossil: Any trace of a living organism (body, part of body, burrow, footprint, etc.) preserved over time.
Whale of a tale
Whale Evolutionary Tree
The land mammals appear first because in the whale animation before the whale evolved into a whale it was a land mammal
Hiding in the background
camouflage
camouflage is the natural coloring or form of an animal which enables it to blend in with its surroundings. In the green worms vs. beige worms activity the green worms population kept growing after generations because they blended in (camouflaged) with the grass. The beige worms population decreased because they stuck out in the grass so the birds saw them easily and ate them.

Antibiotic Resistance
Antibiotic Resistance is the ability of bacteria and other microorganisms to resist the effects of an antibiotic to which they were once sensitive. The result showed the least resistant bacteria were steadily decreasing from day one to day three. All least resistant bacteria were killed on day five. Resistant bacteria began to decline from day one to day seven. All resistant bacteria were killed off on day seven. The extremely resistant bacteria declined from day one to day eight. All extremely resistant bacteria got killed off on day 8.
