Editing
cuts
In order for my film opening to be effective the cuts and jump cuts I use, must be smooth and not be distracting to an audience watching my film opening.
transitions
for the transitions between scenes I want there to be the least amount of noticeable cuts between them in order to create a smooth sequence of events. In order to do this I need to create effective and seamless transitions between settings and locations
continuity
continuity is important in establishing a timeline of events in my film opening. In order for me to keep the continuity throughout my film opening the cuts and transitions as well as the content in the scenes must match the timeline of events and timescale between them.
lighting
natural lighting
on camera, most natural lighting will look dim and make the details in frame be indistinguishable. this means that I will have to brighten certain scenes whilst editing or create direct lighting on the characters faces.
coloured lighting
In my film opening I may want to use cooler lighting in order for the scene to feel cold compared to other parts of the opening. This means I might have to add colour differentiation in post production.
filming in the dark
for my horror opening I will need to film some scenes in the dark. This means i will have to create effective lighting in order for all the set and the characters within the frame to be seen
Camera
movements
In my film opening I do want to add some pans to open space in frame, however this might be difficult without a smooth dolly to move the camera
-
angles
Most of the shots in my film opening will be normal shot with the main characters body and whereabouts shown most of the time. however because I will be using a hand held camera for most of the shots I may include some tilted angle in order for the scene to look realistic
