Plasma Membrane
-
Includes
-
PROTEINS
Proteins are made of amino acids. There are 20 types of amino acids. Proteins are very important for many things. They are the basic structural material of the body.
GLYCOLIPIDS
It is located on extracellular membrane surface. Contain fatty acid chain, and a polar sugar group.
-
-
GLYCOPROTEIN
They are molecules situated in the plasma membrane. They are composed of protein and carbohydrate chains.
CHOLESTEROL
The mambrane is composed of 20% of cholesterol. Cholesterol has polar region and nonpolar region. It is situated between phospholipid tails.
LIPID RAFTS
They are group dynamic of satured phospholipids, with a great concentration of cholesterol.

Cytoplasm

Includes:
-
Organelles
Endoplasmic Reticulum
two types
-
ROUGH
Happens the protein synthesis, and there are ribosomes
-
-
Lysosomes
Degrades old organelles, and breaks down non-useful tissues
Mitochondria
contain DNA, RNA and Ribosomes
-
-
Most ATP generated here, "powerhouse"
