- - - - In recent cases we have seen murder being let off because of the fact that they pleaded that it was self defense. Due to cases like that more and more people are committing crimes because they see someone who has done something that they were told was bad being left off with a slap on the wrist.
    - - Stories like David’s confirm beliefs that the criminal justice system is an indecipherable black hole. Change seems impossible and so it is rarely attempted. These beliefs are damaging, fatalistic, but also just incorrect—our research in 2019 highlighted a wide range of charities doing fantastic work to support people out of the criminal justice system.

- - - - I feel like having cops at schools is just another way for our rights to be taken away from us without even knowing. We go to school to learn, yes students might fight when there’s a disagreement. Many of the students see that as their only way to stand up for themselves. Recently there was an article about how some states want to make it legal for high school students to bring guns to school. I feel like CJS should be more worried about guns and weapons being brought into schools then students getting physical.
