This is the exact opposite of what is happening in America. Our unemployment rate has skyrocketed. This has been said to be because of the pandemic, but hopefully it doesn't take a war to change our employment rates.

Why did governments take control of their economies in war? They took control so that the entire country's focus would be on war. They wanted to ensure that everyone was doing their best in favor of the war and didn't want to waste time or resources.

How did total war lead to rationing? People were forced to ration because anything extra went directly to the war efforts. They wanted to save on resources to give to soldiers and put towards winning the war. This way, there was no spill over and everything was devoted to war.

Russia had a huge population and could keep sending men to fight.
This connects to the concept of change because before this time, women were not thought of to be able to do "masculine" jobs.
This connects to the concept of values and beliefs because the American values and beliefs were that women could not do these roles, so changing those values and beliefs in World War 1 was revolutionary.
