Symbolization
To give the people a unifying object or recognize one they already have. As to more easily identify Jewish people in the Holocaust, they were made to wear yellow stars of David
Discrimination
Legally defining a people as an other and using this to make them suffer through society. The Jewish people were legally classified as a race in Nuremberg and subsequently, laws were passed to restrict their accesses
dehumanization
To make a people no longer human. Jewish people were seen as many things through the anti-Semites, a notably example being a form of poisonous mushroom.
organization
To form plans and groups dedicated to the eradication of a people. The SS, lead by Heinrich Himmler, would be the group to lead extermination efforts against the jewish people of europe.
Polarization
To further the divide between peoples. German facilities often had "No jews allowed" rules and laws. Jews were barred from many places and discriminated against systemically
preparation
To plan the Genocide. Top ranking Nazis gathered at a conference to discuss "The Final Solution". Reinhard Heydrich, one member, had a list of 11,000,000 jews in europe
Persecution
Carying out the prepared plan to genocide. At first, Nazis decide to send out deathsquads throughout their occupied land to seek out jewish people to kill on the spot. They would later change their tactics to the infamous gas chambers
Extermination
To treat as pest. As the Nazis gained a foothold in poland, they establish deathcamps throughout. Rather than using ammunition and gasoline on killing jews, they changed over to gas chambers and working them to death to build machines for the war.
