We have seen that one of the first, and ultimately influential, syllabus models was described as a notional syllabus (Wilkins 1976), which specified the semantic-grammatical
categories (e.g., frequency, motion, location)
Other syllabus proposals
There have been numerous proposals and models for what a syllabus might look like in
CLT throughout the 1980s. Yalden (1983) described the major current communicative syllabus types, summarized below:
