Quitters' Inc. Parts 5-8
Donatti claims that his treatment is all for the greater good to help their clients quit. He also claims that Quitters' Inc. is a pragmatist organization. Pragmatism is a philosophy based upon approaching a problem or situation practically versus ideally. I argue that this is what causes the disconnect of emotional involvement in the agents working for Quitters' Inc, including Donatti, who seems to be cold and almost sadistic.
Morrison goes through the treatment, and in time, he makes progress. He struggles towards the end and ends up falling into his habit again.
Morrison became distraught when his wife was kidnapped, Donatti was not lying when he said that they would use extreme tactics.
