Forehand Skill Cues
- Side stance, non-dominant shoulder pointing towards the target (coil)
- Swing the racket back, waist level
- Body weight on the "back leg"
- Transfer body weight to the front and rotate the hips (uncoil)
- Swing the racket forward and make contact with the ball in front of the body
- Follow-through and finish the strike with the elbow in front of the body (chest height), racket pointing up
- Heel up!
Backhand Skill Cues
- Side stance, dominant shoulder pointing towards the target (coil)
- Swing the racket back, waist level
- Body weight on the "back leg"
- Transfer body weight to the front and rotate the hips (uncoil)
- Swing the racket forward and make contact with the ball in front of the body
- Follow-through and finish the strike with the elbow in front of the body (shoulder height), racket pointing up
- Heel up!
