SIMILARITIES

Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction of some animal, plant and bacterial organisms by mitosis.

In this reproduction, an organism replicates the cells of its body without the need for fertilization, for regenerative, reproductive purposes and sometimes by dividing into two organisms.

TYPES OF ASEXUAL REPRODUCTION

Requires a stable and unchanging environment.

Fragmentation: The body of the parent breaks into different parts and each is a descendant.

Germination/Gemation: Sprouts from a place on the body and separates from the body when mature.

Gemmules: Sprouts internally. A parent releases cells that become decendents.

Regeneration: A new individual develops from a part of the organism.

Binary fission: The mother cell duplicates organelles by mitosis and divides in two.

Partogenesis: Develops from an unfertilized ovum.

It forms identical organisms without genetic variation and mutations persist.

It invests little energy and time in reproduction.

If there is a change in the negative environment, death occurs.

Produces large numbers of decendents.

It occurs in organisms in particular places without a partner.

There are many types of asexual reproduction.
