He studied at the trinity college in Oxford. There he meet others that untherstand him and so in few time he become important between young man that appreciate poetry and literature. There he meet Arthur Hallam that became his closest friend

He lived Oxford and travelled in the continent with his friend, that died in Vienna—> that lose make he really sad and for lots of years he think about that
During all this years he published lots of poems that make him really famous and rich—> he is considered the greatest poet of his day
In 1884 he was given the title of baron for his literate merits and for some time he become an impotrtant political
ULYSSES
STYLE
He is a true Victorian, so he need regularity and balance

Is divided in three stanza:
- Ulysses is speaking to himself and is saying that is not happy about his life that is boring and away from adventure
- Ulysses speak to an unknown listener about his son Telemachus
- Ulysses speak to his old person crew about the needed of going to the sea again
The tone of the poem is elegy: the tone is serious, the thematic are dark and connette the to death. Essentially refers to sad and serious poems
Is a dramatic monologue, so the speaker is Ulysses and the characteristic is that is for a silent listener and is the character that reveal himself in a certain situation
THEME
FULFILLIMEN OF LIFE
Ulysses reflect about how he is spending his life and he is really sad because he think that life is action, he want to live in a full way his life and so he is disturbed about the fact that he have to lived on the island doing nothing

He wrote dramatic monologues in two volumes. I’m these the most famous are Ulysses and Morte D’Arthur. These last talk about King Arthur knight and their brotherhood destroyed by the absence of a true leader
