        Progressivism believes individuality, progress, and change are fundamental in Education.
        
        Education should focus on the student.
        
        Education should be a progress of ongoing growth.
        
        Role of college or school: Provide a place for students to active learning, problem solving and participate in hand on learning.
        College should provide extracurricular activities and prepare students with knowledge and skills that are necessary for the future.
        
        Role of teacher:
        
        Teacher as a facilitator
        
        Response to learners individual need
        
        Provide opportunity for active learning.
        
        Emphasise on learning process, not just the outcome
      - Students were encouraged to cooperate and learn from each other, as well as their teachers. (Walker and Soltis 1992)
      - The role of teacher should be a guide rather than an authoritarian figure ( W.H Kilpatrick, 1925)
