BRITISH EDUCATION
The british education is divided into
Primary school When they are five, children go to Primary school that lasts 6 years and is divided into Infant School from 5 to 7 where they learn to read, write and the basics of Arithmetics. They then go to Junior School from 7 to 11 where they study History, Geography, Maths, Science, English, PE. (twice a week) and a foreign Language, usually French or German. They take tests called SAT (Standard Assessment Tasks) when they finish
PRIMARY SCHOOL
from 11 to 16 years of age students go to Secondary school that starts with Year 7 and finishes with Year 11. At Secondary School they study the three basic subjects that are English, Maths and Science plus History, Geography, I.T. , Music, Art, P.E , R.E. and a foreign Language. They can study French, German or Spanish and Italian. When the students are 16 they take an examination called GCSE. This exam marks the end of compulsory education. After the GCSE they can choose to go to work or they can stay at school until 18. At the end of the last year they take another examination called A-level. This certification is important for the students who want to go to university.
SECONDARY SCHOOL
At 18, after secondary school, students can go to universities, colleges or polytechnics and study for a degree.
Higher education
From two to five years of age children go to nursery school where they do activities such as playing, singing and listening to stories in order to improve their language.

Eton College is the most famous boys’ public school in the world. It is situated in Eton, in the south-east county of Berkshire, in England. The Country is also called the Royal County of Berkshire because of the presence on its territory of the royal palace of Windsor.

Nowadays
Almost all of the boys who attend Eton go on to Oxford or Cambridge University. Students here are called Etonians and over 1300 pupils are educated in the College.
They can study Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Latin, Greek, History, Geography, Art History, Economy and Modern Foreign Languages.
At Eton College the school year is divided into three academic terms called halves:
the Michaelmas Half, from early September to mid December
New students are admitted only at the start of this half
The Lent Half, from mid-January to late March and the Summer Half, from late April to late June or early July.
