To what extent should a government promote capitalism in a society.
Retired people should be ensured to have some benefits and supports from the government-SJ
agreed but maybe there should be a limited extent to where the amount of money is given to each retired worker/family -SH
It will be based on a certain percentage of salary while working
What if the government collected taxes and provided everyone with a living salary that met minimum needs and anything else you earned was extra for you?
Although it might increase the overall satisfaction of living for citizens, it would not help in developing the country since this would not motivate people to work more efficiently. -SH
It sounds ideal but I think everyone's needs are different, enough for this person might be not for another. Different jobs with different requirements should result in different wages. - Nick
But what if I have a bad job because I had no education and poor parents. We were just farmers in the countryside. Then I get paid less than a lucky person with rich parents from the city? SV
I think it would work great because it would mean that all citizens would have certain amount of money for their living, while incentivizing people to work more and harder in order to get rich - WY
Providing everyone with a living salary and allowing anything else earned by them are for them sounds like a great short-term idea, but it wouldn't work as it was intended as it goes to a long-term thing since everyone's needs and jobs are different and these factors might change in the future. SJ
Health care should be free or offered at a low cost to all citizens - WY
military service should be volunteer where citizens both men and women can apply for a certain period of time or as a career - WY
there should be minimum wages for the workers to ensure enough money for basic necessities - WY
Agree, but should they be pay as much as corporate jobs? - Nick
I think no, because the amount of education and the abilities required for corporate jobs are much higher. - WY
What is the wage amount? SV
The current minimum wage is $7.25 per hour in the US. - WY
Adjusted for inflation it is should be $30 an hour.
Agree because the cost of payment is extremely high and those who can not afford it will face many difficulties in using medical services
agree because a government should prioritize the safety and well being of its citizens - Mac
Public schools should be free of charge -SH
Privatize all properties that are not state-owned - SH
How far does privatization go? Natural resources like lakes, rivers? SV
Businesses should have a self-regulation system and their productions shouldn't be controlled much by the government-SJ
What is the definition of "much"? - WY
It is fine for the gov to keep track on the productions or check the status, but it's too much when they start to interfere themselves in the process or make any decisions on their own
Tax money should go more to social programs than millitary funding - Nick
Service workers should be able to make living wages - Nick
Can you define a living wage? Sv
Being able to afford their rent, healthcare and food. - Nick
As long as capitalism ensures equal opportunity for everyone. - Mac
capitalism are unrestrained and only benefits the rich and does not do much good to others
Agree - Nick
The nature of capitalism is that NOTHING is fair. Winners and losers in the economic sense prevail. sv
Agree, should public school teachers pay less then? - Nick
Retirees will receive a pension based on their achievements while in office
So if I collect garbage, which is important, then my retirement is a "garbage" pension? SV
what I want to talk about here is retirement salary, you will receive a certain money per month
In each field, there will be a pension based on the importance of the industry and the position you worked before
No because they all dedicate their careers and become teachers for students and for the future of the country
transfer payments should be given to retired workers, unemployed youths, and low-income families -SH
Agree, but how will the government cover the money? - WY
But what if they are making a living wage? Then is this necessary? SV
