Diefenbaker was accused of being dishonest to committing to protect Canada's allies because he refused to take in the nuclear weapons resulting that if an allied county needed help, Canada wouldn't have been equipped with the weapons when necessary.
Torn between two opinions but ultimately believed that storing and transporting nuclear weapons would be dangerous. One of the main points Diefenbaker had stated of why he didn't want to bring in nuclear weapons is because he was worried about where to store the weapons and transporting it here would be extremely risky and dangerous.
