FRICTION - Coggle Diagram
Types of Friction
Sliding Friction
The frictional force present when one object moves slowly (or slides) over the surface of another object.
Greater than Rolling Friction, but smaller than Static Friction
Rolling Friction
When an Object (like Wheels) rolls over the surface of another object, the resistance to its motions is called Rolling Friction
-
Static Friction
The Maximum frictional force present between any two objects when one object just tends to move or slip over the surface of the other object

Friction is dependent on the smoothness or roughness of the two surfaces that are in contact with each other. When the surface is smooth, the friction between the two reduces as there is not much interlocking of irregularities. While the surface is rough, friction increases.

Due to friction , we have to exert more power in machines
