History of black people
Between the 1600's and the 1700's many black people were kidnapped from there homes in Africa they were put on slave ships they were then manacled to the floor

In the 1860's slavery was abolished many white people refused to treat the freed slaves equally.
Laws were introduced to make sure that black people were segregated from white people
Black people were forced live in black only areas and were able to attend black only cafes libraries and much more
Black Americans were allowed to vote but usally they did not have a good education so they could not read or write so they could not have a say in who governed them
In the 1950's black people in america looked for equality, they were tired of being treated like second class citizens
This led to the civil right movement it began in Alabama 1955 Rosa parks was on her way home from work she sat down on the only available seat on the bus she was asked by the bus driver to give her seat up she refused
