Management strategy
Phase 2: rock armour/Rip Rap added beach replenished with sand and shingle replaced out dated groynes with new stone groynes stared 2005 finished 2007
Phase 3: £19.5 million spent on built 390 m stretch of sea wall and stabilised east and church cliff. Started 2013 finished in 2015
Phase 1: building new sea wall ,finished 1995
Deemed the largest and most complex costal protection effort for years by England's environmental committee
Deemed highly beneficial as offers long term protection from costal erosion
Created calmer water in bay through building promenade
Conflicts of management
Very expensive and only lasts for 50 years where it will all have to be spent again
Might not be worth spending millions on one area when other areas may need it more.

Helps save entire community in the short to medium term
Buildings and homes protected for next 50 years
Potentially reduce tourism as land slides can reveal ancient fossils which can attracted 500-1000 people within hours.
