Joan Miró was a Catalan painter who mixed abstract art with Surrealist fiction. He was born on April 20, 1893, in Barcelona, Spain, and died on December 25, 1983, in Palma, Majorca. His mature style arose from a conflict between his whimsical, poetic drive and his vision of modern life's harshness. He did a lot of lithography work and made a lot of murals, tapestries, and sculptures for public locations.
